Sumatra Films

Sumatra Films is an independent production company founded in 2004 to create, develop and co-finance motion pictures. Sumatra develops its own projects in-house in addition to partnering on the development and production with other production companies, directors and writers. Our films often based on epic true stories intended to explore the human nature of its characters while dealing with extraordinary times they are living in. Sumatra focuses on suspense-thriller genres as well as developing 3D Live action/animation projects.

Ariel Vromen

Ariel Vromon

Ariel Vromen has been the creative force behind numerous projects including Feature Films and Documentaries.

In 2001 Ariel Vromen produced, wrote and directed the underground short hit, Jewel of the Sahara, starring Gerard Butler (300, The Bounty Hunter). In 2004 he produced, wrote and directed his first feature film Rx. Staring Colin Hanks, Eric Balfour and Lauren German, Rx. Continues to have a successful run on both Showtime and The Movie Channel and was an official entry at the 2005 AFI film festival.

In 2006 Vromen directed the Blue Omega psychological thriller, DANIKA, starring award-winning Marissa Tomei, Craig Bierco and Regina Hall. Danika won best picture and best actress at Sun Diego Film Festival The film opened in Cine Vegas and AFI in 2007.

Vromen is currently producing three feature films: "The Iceman" starring Michael Shannon (Johna Hex, Revolutionary Road) The epic true story of mafia hitman Richard Kuklinski , "The point of No Return" (3D live action animation) suspense thriller about the Israeli air-force and the Iranian nuclear threat and the extreme Israeli comedy "Jabar and the 72 virgins - The American dream".

Ariel has amassed his film education at both New York University and the Los Angeles Film School and has a law degree from Kent University in the U.K. Vromen is represented by David Styne at ICM , Laura Rister at Untitled Entertainment and by lawyer Larry Kopeikin at Barnes and Morris.
